Multiple
Camera Implementation
Most
multiple camera installations using i-Catcher technology
utilize the i-Catcher Console application. Image information
is generated by i-Catcher Clients connecting to the Console
via the local area network.
i-Catcher
Console can also use local feed "nodes". Nodes
are "silent" i-Catcher Sentry clients that run
on the same system as Console, and connect locally so that
i-Catcher Console can use cameras connected to the local
system, and still maintain flexible and complete control
over the video feed.
In
locations where a direct video or network connection is
not possible 2.4 GHz microwave transmitters make it possible
to site the cameras up to 150 meters away from the network.
Where it is necessary to economize on video hardware, installing
one capture card per camera on a single system may become
impractical. For this reason, i-Catcher Video Server has
been developed for use with the four-input ViewCast Osprey-100
capture card. With the Osprey card and a combination of
i-Catcher Video Server and i-Catcher Console, it is possible
for a single system to monitor, record, and control up to
16 video feeds.
i-Catcher Console's feed limit is much higher. With its
ability to handle remote Sentry clients as well as local
feeds, Console can, subject to system specification, handle
up to 255 video feeds. Some local, some remote clients,
and some network feeds.
If your installation requires alert capabilities, the i-Catcher
Alert application brings email, Web, and SMS alerts to the
console application. Keeping you informed of what’s
happening on all your cameras.
