KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Harness the power of Niagara SCX® without the expense and development time of a roll-your-own solution
  • Provides a single, unified suite of tools and example applets to simplify the creation, delivery and management of compressed audio and video media

Designed for Developers

Designed for developers, Our ViewCast Niagara SCX streaming media management software is a great way for your customers to manage and direct live video broadcasting over the Internet and to mobile devices. But for those of you who want to develop your own unique user experience, or add streaming media features to your existing video application, your solution has arrived!

With the Niagara SCX Web Services SDK, you can harness all of the power of the Niagara SCX "engine" into your own software application -- without the expense and development time of a roll-your-own solution. The Niagara SCX SDK provides you with a well defined suite of tools and example applets to simplify the creation, delivery and management of compressed audio and video media for today's growing multimedia-rich market.

With very little additional development, your favorite compression formats - Windows Media®, SMPTE VC-1, RealVideo®, Adobe® Flash®, MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264 -- singly or in combination - can be made available to your users quickly and easily.

The Niagara SCX Web Services Interface

Niagara SCX control and management software features are accessed via Microsoft's Web Services Description Language (WDSL), which means you use ordinary XML-based methods to take full control of the Niagara SCX engine.

You can add, remove, start, stop and configure exactly what you need to create the right content for your specific audience and application. Just install the Web Services engine on your encoder, and you are ready to take complete control of the capture and compression experience.

Already own a Niagara Pro or GoStream SURF or GoStream PLUS appliance? Then you're all set -- the SCX Web Services are already pre-installed and ready for your developers.

Applications You Can Explore

  • Broadcast Automation - Add multiple streaming media formats to your existing Broadcast Automation software to simulcast to Internet viewers and to mobile devices.
  • Traffic Camera Capture and Streaming - Add streaming media control to the software that manages your traffic cameras. Quickly and easily include a new class of at-home and mobile users.
  • Medical Records / Medical Collaboration - Capture, save and stream video from medical imaging devices to simplify recordkeeping or to aid in collaboration.
  • Distance Learning - Capture and stream live classroom video under the control of classroom presentation software.
