ViewCast Osprey-700 HD Capture Card Wins STAR Award From Editors of TV Technology Europe

PLANO, Texas - September 26, 2007 - ViewCasts new high definition (HD) digital video capture card, the Osprey-700 HD, is the recipient of the 2007 STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award. The award was presented by the editorial staff of TV Technology Europe magazine at the IBC2007 conference in Amsterdam.

The STAR Award celebrates and showcases the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. A panel of judges consisting of TV Technology editors and columnists reviewed a variety of products, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.

"STAR awards are given to interesting new products that help a user save money or accomplish a task in an easier way, said Mark Hallinger, editor of TV Technology Europe. The products selected help advance the industry some were chosen because of technical novelty or innovation, some because they filled an important gap in the production or transmission chain, and some because they were just cool products."

"ViewCast is extremely pleased to receive this industry recognition for the new Osprey-700 HD, said Dave Stoner, ViewCasts president and COO. Given the hundreds of new products displayed at IBC this year, it is an honor to be selected as one of the leading innovative products introduced at the IBC show."

The Osprey-700 HD is an HD-SDI and SD-SDI A/V input card designed for broadcasters and content owners needing to repurpose live or archived HD and standard definition (SD) content for IP video distribution and video-on-demand applications. The card automatically adapts to any SD or HD input, on-the-fly, without any user intervention. It was designed specifically to meet the real-world needs of broadcasters. As the first HD-compatible product from ViewCast, the Osprey-700 HD is a member of the new PCIe family of ViewCast Osprey capture cards developed for next-generation, high-performance broadcasting and streaming media systems.
