About the Osprey Closed Caption COM Object

The IOTCC2RealText COM object provides an easy way to add the ability to extract Closed 
Caption text from an Osprey video capture board, convert that data into RealText, 
and then either save this information as a file, and/or send the data to a RealServer.   
In addition, the callback interface can be used along with the Windows Media SDK to 
produce synchronized live Window Media captions, or to save a SAMI file that can be used 
to generate synchronized recorded Windows Media captions. 

The word 'RealText' in the name "IOTCC22RealText" is present because the initial target 
for the Caption COM object was Real Video. Yet the underlying COM object and the 
Osprey Closed Caption Utility can be used for Windows Media or for other generic purposes. 

About the Osprey Closed Caption Utility

This mini-application illustrates using the IOTCC22RealText COM object to capture Closed 
Caption data. Captioned data can be 

- saved to a RealText File for use with Real Video
- saved to a SAMI file for use with Windows Media 
- sent to a RealServer for live streaming

About the Osprey Capture and Encoding Manager

Another free Osprey Utility, the Osprey Capture and Encoding Manager (OCEM), also uses the
IOTCC22RealText COM object. In addition to encoding audio and video into Real or Windows 
Media Formats, OCEM can also embed captions into a Windows Media stream that is saved to disk 
or streamed to a Windows Media server as well as stream captions to a RealServer.
