ViewCast Introduces Osprey Ease Together With Adobe Premiere Elements - A Complete Video Capture, Editing, Streaming, & DVD Authoring Tool

DALLAS Dec. 13, 2004 ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB:VCST - News), today announced the release of an exciting new product, Osprey Ease, for the rapidly growing market of video users desiring high-quality capabilities at an affordable price. Osprey Ease combines the power of the Osprey-300 video capture card with the editing flexibility and creative control found in Adobe Premiere Elements. The resulting product provides a cost-effective video capture, editing, streaming, and DVD authoring tool that is ideal for corporate communications departments, business video specialists, and multimedia producers.

""By integrating an inexpensive yet robust Adobe editing solution, we are now able to offer a complete video editing and authoring package that provides business video specialists and multimedia video producers with an efficient and cost-effective end-to-end video production tool," said Horace Irwin, vice president of marketing and business development, at ViewCast. "Our agreement with Adobe will allow ViewCast customers to combine the best capabilities in video capture with industry-leading editing and authoring software."

Osprey Ease includes the Osprey-300, an analog video capture and streaming card that includes an OHCI compliant DV (FireWire) port. Using Adobe Premiere Elements and digital video (DV) devices, such as DV cameras and DV decks, users can capture, control, edit, and stream professional quality videos. OHCI provides the user control features of their DV device from their desktop: stop, rewind, and record. The Osprey-300 also provides simultaneous capture and real-time video streaming through the analog port and direct capture from DV devices into Adobe Premiere Elements for DVD authoring. The Osprey-300's PCI-X bus compatibility delivers the high-performance, high-bandwidth data transfer that is needed to capture full-resolution DVD-quality video. Videos and DVDs are created quickly and easily using the FireWire port.

Attractively priced at an MSRP of $499, Osprey Ease brings users a new choice to purchase a bundled, full-featured product without breaking the budget. Through the end of 2004, ViewCast is offering a $30 discount off the regular price of $499, for a total of $469.

"We developed Adobe Premiere Elements with the video enthusiast in mind and incorporated automated tasks to make the most of the time they devote to their digital video creations. Osprey Ease and Adobe Premiere Elements make it easy to get great results, with intuitive interfaces and features to deliver an exceptionally high level of creative control," said Tapan Bhat, director of consumer digital imaging and video products at Adobe. "We're extremely pleased to work with ViewCast to deliver this capability to the non-linear editing (NLE) market."
