Simulstream should be transparent to the application. So there are no issues that come to mind using a custom application. If the application works w/out SimulStream it should work fine with SimulStream. The only caveats would be if the application utilized some features not supported by SimulStream. As examples, the current driver releases (2.2) don't support multiple / independent logo's per stream nor do they support multiple / independent crops per stream. Things like that may be an issue. But to date we haven't had an application that works w/out SimulStream not work without it. As many of the current SimulStream limitations (like the ones described above) have already been addressed in our internal 3.0 driver work.

I'd like to know if there would be any issues trying to use a custom Windows Media Encoder with Simulstream and an Osprey card.

The encoder app is a (visually) stripped down version of the standard Windows Media Encoder. It inserts some info into the script channel as it encodes. Can we just point Simulstream to the custom app? We don't actually use Simulstream, but a customer of ours uses it all the time.
