Q. I am getting a message: "Driver for use only with Osprey-100 card from ViewCast.com" error.

This error is generated by Windows NT operating system when the Osprey-100 driver reads a bad signature from the EEPROM on the board. A bad read can mean that the signature is corrupted, or that the wrong board is being used.

Verify that you have an Osprey -100 and not another manufacturer's board, such as a Hauppauge or Intel board, that uses the same Brooktree 848 chipset (Bt848) as the Osprey.

If the board is an Osprey -100, when did you purchase the board? Some boards built prior to June 1997 may not have an EEPROM; and will not work with the latest software. You may be able to get a replacement board by contacting the vendor from whom the board was purchased.
