Q. My NetMeeting video is black in the local window, but the remote views are fine on both ends.
The problem is caused by the fact that NetMeeting uses the YVU9 video format, but does not provide a method for displaying that format in local view. It relies on the system having a YVU9 software decoder present. The solution is to install a software YVU9 codec.

One is available for free from Intel as part of their Intel Indeo SDK. Go to the Intel Indeo page at http://developer.intel.com/ial/indeo/video/driver.htm, and download the file "iv5setup.exe".
