Niagara 4228RW is part of the Niagara series of integrated,
turnkey 2U rack-mount systems for real-time encoding of video
and audio content.
This
powerful Pentium® 4 2Ghz streaming system is also a tri-mode
device for MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 encoding and decoding in addition
to advanced video/audio capture card capabilities.

The
professional quality of MPEG serves the streaming world for
Video-On-Demand (VOD) purposes. The MPEG CODEC ability allows
the Niagara 4228RW archive video content to use high-quality
MPEG for later transcoding to popular streaming formats. The
Niagara 4228RW effectively delivers real-time transcoding
and streaming from an MPEG source file in one step.
 It
offers high quality video/audio capture from analog, DV and
professional digital sources, for both NTSC and PAL video
sources. Analog Composite and S-Video video plus unbalanced
stereo audio are available for outputs when used for MPEG
decoding. Audio loopback/monitoring capabilities are provided
via unbalanced RCA audio output.
