and Osprey-540 video capture cards from ViewCast as the
first official Divx certified video products. This announcement
spearheads the launch of the �Divx Certified� program,
a new Divx video certification program for best-of-class
video products compatible with Divx video compression
technology.
The
Divx Certified program is intended to provide consumers
with a guarantee of Divx� video compatibility for best-of-class
video hardware products. Each Divx Certified product is
thoroughly tested and certified by DivXNetworks� expert

but including streaming workflow enhancement tools for
our products.
 Continuing
that trend, we are please to announce the release of
two new free workflow tools for Osprey Video products,
CC2Rtext and SimulStream Encoding Manager software.
CC2Rtext
As the name would imply, this handy tool allows an Osprey
user to extract closed captioning from a video source
and immediately stream the corresponding text in RealText
format.
The
benefit of streaming the text in a unique format like
RealText is readily seen in the quality and clarity
of the streamed text. Traditional closed captioning
text that is overlaid onto a video image will become
blurry at lower bitrates while RealText maintains crisp
text output,
even at very low bitrates!

SimulStream
Encoding Manager software
We are pleased to release SimulStream Encoding Manager
software. This new software allows SimulStream users
to have a single interface that will run each application
session from a single user interface.
SimulStream
enables any number of applications to simultaneously
access an Osprey device as if each application was
the sole user of the device. For example, any number
of WindowsMedia Encoder applications as well as
Real System Producer applications can be run at
the same time on a single board. This dramatically
improves workflow and increases encoding density
for those doing large amounts of streaming at multiple
bitrate and/or multiple formats however running
multiple application windows can become confusing
as more streams are added.
Now
with SimulStream Encoding Manager software, the
task of starting and managing multiple encoding
applications is provided through a single user interface
without multiple encoding windows on your desktop.
And
this fantastic new workflow tool is freely available
to all Osprey users!
Even
if you don't have the SimulStream upgrade install
on your Osprey card, the SimulStream Encoding Manager
software provides a simplified user interface for
single encoding sessions using your Osprey capture
card!

Osprey
Video has just announced the release of a patch for the
Osprey streaming capture cards. This new patch will now
allow you to use your capture card with two very popular
communication and presentation applications, Microsoft's
Netmeeting and PowerPoint
To
update your Osprey drivers, you will need to go to the Driver
Download page of the ViewCast web site, located at:
http://www.viewcast.com/driverdownload.asp
Find
your Osprey card in the chart and the corresponding operating
system. Click the corresponding "Download" hyperlink.
You
will be asked if you want to register. This is optional.
Click
Register Later and you will be taken immediately
to an ftp software directory.
Within
this ftp directory will be the appropriate patch for your
Osprey and OS!
NOTE:
If you have problems accessing the ftp directory, check
with your company's network manager to ensure that your
corporate network is ftp access enabled.
