John Caulfield to Head New ViewCast Online Solutions Division

Former Outreach Technology CEO to Spearhead
Business-to-Business Solutions for Video Communications

DALLAS (Feb. 6, 2001) – Viewcast today announced that John Caulfield has been named corporate vice president and president of the ViewCast Online Solutions division at Viewcast, Inc. (NASDAQ: VCST), a leading provider of streaming media and networked video solutions. In this newly created position, Caulfield is responsible for building ViewCast Online Solutions business.

John will hit the ground running – initially with a staff of very capable ViewCast employees – and will be responsible for all operating functions of the new division, to include marketing, sales, development and support of the new initiative,” said George Platt, president and chief executive officer. “We believe that this division provides ViewCast with a new strategy that builds upon our considerable base of technology and expertise in streaming media from our Osprey Video division.

I’m excited to be leading this initiative for ViewCast,” said Caulfield. “The timing is perfect. Until now, rich media on the web has been mostly focused in support of the movie and entertainment industry. We believe only three percent of companies to date employ rich media in support of business applications. Therefore, an enormous opportunity exists to deliver, in a hosted model, solutions and applications that provide B2B customers quick time-to-value from this new technology. In the coming weeks and months, we will introduce an exciting set of initial offerings targeted to support these customers.

Prior to joining ViewCast, Caulfield served for two years as the president and CEO of Outreach Technology, an e-business corporation. Before Outreach, Caulfield was executive vice president for Fujitsu Private Network Division. Caulfield’s extensive high-tech experience includes executive positions at IBM, ROLM and Exxon Information Systems.
