Announces New Viewpoint™ Streaming Client Products
ViewCast
offers user-controllable video switching and distribution
for streaming broadcasts & archiving.
DALLAS
(January 28, 2003) - ViewCast Corporation (VCST.OB), the
video communications leader, announced today the availability
of its new Viewpoint Streaming Client as part of the Viewpoint
VBX video distribution system. The Viewpoint Streaming Client
is a networked video streaming solution that allows users
to access and control multiple networked video sources from
anywhere on their LAN or WAN. Users can remotely direct
any video source to one or more streaming encoders and remotely
manage the encoders from any networked PC. Applications
include Education and Distance Learning, Video Conference
Webcast, Security and Surveillance Video, Broadcast Television,
Medical Imaging or stream and/or archive any standard audio
and video content from virtually any source from their desktop
PC.

streaming live video is usually a one-to-many solution-one
video source, many viewers. But increasingly, users need
to include more than a single source, or switch between

Viewpoint Streaming Client is part of ViewCast's family

Viewpoint networked video sources include third-party video
conferencing systems, satellite television, DVD players,
video cameras or any video output device.
Besides
adding streaming capabilities to the Viewpoint video network,
the Viewpoint Streaming Client also provides user-controlled
switching of video for ViewCast Niagara Streaming Systems.
ViewCast offers Niagara users the ability to upgrade their
systems for remote video switching and encoding with the
Niagara Interface to Viewpoint upgrade.
The
Viewpoint Streaming Client is compatible with industry-standard
streaming formats including Windows Media 9, RealNetworks
Helix, RealVideo, and Quicktime.
