ViewCast Introduces ViewCast Online Affiliate Program

Program offers revenue generation for Web-based businesses

DALLAS (Aug. 15, 2001) - ViewCast Corporation (NASDAQ: VCST), the video communications leader, introduced an affiliate program that enables Web-based businesses to extend the power of streaming technology to their customers from their site. The ViewCast Online Affiliate Program makes audio and video streaming services available to even small and mid-size businesses which can then earn a portion of the streaming usage revenue from customers who create a ViewCast Online EZStream™ or StreamStory™ account via the affiliate's link.

"This affiliate program is a proven technique for allowing companies to enhance their e-marketing strategies. Now any company that has a web presence can allow their customers to take advantage of the power of audio and video streaming. The fact that revenue is generated back to the affiliate is really icing on the cake," said John Caulfield, ViewCast Online president.

"Our new affiliate program enables ViewCast to offer both stand-alone solutions and enhanced integration with our marketing and strategic partners. ViewCast provides offerings of software, hardware and services to make the process of streaming easier, quicker and ultimately less expensive, and this program is a nice introduction to how ViewCast can deliver the power of streaming media with point-and-click ease," Caulfield added.

ViewCast Online currently features two services, EZStream and StreamStory. EZStream is a wizard-driven automated process that combines and simplifies the traditional content capture, encode, publication, and delivery steps of getting rich media available on the Web or in ad-mail campaigns. StreamStory is a script production and publication service that lets customers get a 200-word message produced in the ViewCast studios with professional speakers and made available for embedding on a Web page or ad-mail campaign.

"As a member of ViewCast's affiliate program, we can now offer both streaming media hardware and services to our clients," said Neal Medwed, president of Preferred Computer. "The value of providing complete, easy-to-use streaming media hardware powered by one of the leaders in this technology greatly enhances our current offerings to our customers."

For a limited time, affiliates can also take advantage of a special Osprey/EZStream or Niagara EZStream bundle promotion. Any ViewCast Online Affiliate that signs a new customer up for the EZStream service and the customer submits a claim for either of the promotions listed below will receive a $50 credit good towards the purchase of any ViewCast Osprey or Systems products.

Current promotions include:

  • Any customer that purchases an Osprey card is eligible to receive a $50 credit after they sign up for the EZStream service.
  • If a customer purchases a Niagara Streaming System, ViewCast Online will suspend the $49 monthly application service fee for the EZStream service for 6 consecutive months.

These promotions run through Aug. 31, 2001.
