First-ever
interactive steaming video meeting between Gov. Perry and
Texas newspaper editors
DALLAS
(Aug. 14, 2001) - ViewCast Corporation (NASDAQ: VCST), the
video communications leader, will provide the streaming
media technology for the first interactive, steaming video
editorial board meeting between a Texas governor and state
newspaper editorial board members.
The
meeting between Gov. Rick Perry and editorial board members
from across the state will take place Aug. 16 during the
4th Annual Texas Transportation Summit (http://www.ci.irving.tx.us/Summit/index.htm)
at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Irving, Texas. While newspaper
editors from across the state will be in attendance at the
summit, editors unable to attend will be able to access
the meeting - and ask questions - via real-time streaming
media at a password-protected Web site provided by ViewCast.
The
interactive editorial board meeting, to be moderated by
Rena Pederson, vice president, editorial page editor of
the Dallas Morning News, is believed to be the first such
innovative use of streaming media in the country.
