The main differences between our products are the input sourcs they support. Our Osprey-100 /2x0 family are analog boards only, whereas our Osprey-500/2000 family support both analog and digital sources. All of the Osprey products, except the USB-50, allow you to capture uncompressed video at 640x480 30FPS. The Osprey-2000, in addition to be a capture card, will also allow you to encode MPEG-1/MPEG-2 files in hardware. To determine which card is best suited for your needs, please answer the following questions :
What type of source input will you be using ? composite,s-video, IEEE1394, SDI
What video size are you going to capture at ? 320x240,640x480
Do you need to do any MPEG encoding or decoding ?
Will you be capturing both audio and video ? If yes for audio, what type balanced or unbalanced ?
What operating system will you be utilizing ?
