Hi !

I am testing premiere capture with osprey 200 , got the problem.
Captured video  always was  'No Compression'  regardless of Capture Codec.

another programe is no problem.
Tested another programe :vidcap32,video wave5,virtualdub

Doesn't  premiere support osprey 200 ?   

MY SYSTEM
os: win2000 pro
mainboard:asus a7v-133c
cpu:amd 1.2G

Are you trying to get the hardware to compresss into a specfic format or are you trying to have the hardware provide an uncompressed format to Premiere and then want Premiere to compress into some format? The latter method is what you've found to work with VidCap32, VideoWave, etc. The hardware only provides uncompressed/raw audio/video to premiere. What compressed format are you looking for?

Perhaps post how to reproduce the problem and we'll look at it here at Osprey.

After i read your post,  tested again  various format and codec.
Irrespective of video format and codec, captured video format never compress.
For  right understanding,  i give an example

 I anm currently using ati cards and windows xp to do some encoding. I am having severe problems on my wan. we use it over frame relay but too often it frezes.

We have read alot about OSPREY cards and would like to try them. Can someone advice me which is the best one to use.

The main differences between our products are the input sourcs they support. Our Osprey-100 /2x0 family are analog boards only, whereas our Osprey-500/2000 family support both analog and digital sources. All of the Osprey products, except the USB-50, allow you to capture uncompressed  video at 640x480 30FPS. The Osprey-2000, in addition to be a capture card, will also allow you to encode MPEG-1/MPEG-2 files in hardware.  To determine which card is best suited for your needs, please answer the following questions :

What type of source input will you be using ? composite,s-video, IEEE1394, SDI

What video size are you going to capture  at ? 320x240,640x480

Do you need to do any MPEG encoding or decoding ?

Will you be capturing both audio and video ? If yes for audio, what type balanced or unbalanced ?

What operating system will you be utilizing ?

*****Update on Adobe Premiere issue related to no Compression codec utilized******

We were able to reproduce the issue you were seeing and are working with Adobe to try and resolve this issue. We have recently sent them a couple of our Osprey cards for help in determining what the issues are. As soon as we have a resolution we will be sure to post it on this forum.
