I am using an Osprey 300 to capture from a Sony TRV-80 DV camera over the firewire port.

When you put the camera into "16:9" mode - is the resultant image still 720x480, but with a different pixel aspect ratio?

Is the output resolution always 720x480?

Or does the resolution change to something like 720x360 or 852x480?

I know there is a lot of discussion about the quality of these 'pseudo fake' 16:9 settings and I am really just playing around for now; but I would like to know the settings which match the 'native' output in the camera's widescreen mode.

Thanks

I read that DV capture is always 720x480 regardless of aspect ratio.

So I would also like to know...if the camera is put into 16:9 mode and I capture via the S-Video port, what resolution would be optimal?  Also 720x480?  Or 640x480?

Thanks
