Hi all.

Just wanted to make sure: can Osprey 100 capture from four simultaneous inputs using for example four sessions of Windows Media Encoder, each one with a diferent source? And if not, does the SDK makes the job? I mean, if we program SDK, are we able to capture from four simultaneous inputs? How? If the Osprey 100 isn't the right card to do that, what card makes it?

Thank's.

Unfortunately Osprey does not have a capture card available at this time that can be used for capture from four inputs simultaneously.  You could use the SDK to "poll" the inputs if all you wanted to do was to capture a few frames from each input so that four streams could be encoded simultaneously at ~5 fps.  There are some security applications that use the Osprey-100 in this way.

Another alternative is to use four cards in a single system.  This is supported on all versions of Windows except Windows 98.

Some users ask this question because they want to send the same content to each of the four inputs but use each input with it's own instance of the encoder at varying resolutions and bitrates.  If this is similar to what you want to do you may want to look into Osprey SimulStream, which provides this feature.  More information can be found at http://www.viewcast.com/simulstream_main.html.
