Hello,

we have problems with systems running windows xp and osprey 230 during shutdown.

First of all here is our hardware configuration:

 - Intel Xeon 3.2GHz on Tyan S2665 Mainboard

 - Osprey 230 (installed in the last PCI-Slot)

Our Problem is that a system shutdown doesn't work properly. After shutdown the computer is still running and not powered off because of the osprey 230. No display is shown, no LED is on. Only the chassis fan is still running.

If we shutdown the system without osprey 230 installed all works fine and the computer is powered off. The driver for the osprey we use is the vfw-version 2.2.2 with patch 3 for XP. We cannot install the opsrey into another PCI-Slot because of IRQ sharing with onboard lan or onboard sound or another lan-card.

Does anyone has a tip for power off computer with installed osprey 230?

If you're still having this problem I would first make sure that all available service packs for XP have been installed.  I know that there was once an issue unrelated to the Osprey card but did occur with certain PCI devices that was resolved in a service pack.

If that doesn't address the problem, and you're using a multimedia keyboard (usually a usb device with keyboard/mouse/media control center/etc. all on one usb connection) try temporarily replacing with a PS2 keyboard.  This hasn't been reported in a while but occasionally the combination of the two will cause the system to hang on shut-down.
