I am having problems with registering SCX, so it currently thinks it's a 30 day trial version.

I notice there is an SCX alert which I think is relevant here:

"Call to VPRS with URL [http://www.viewcastonline.com/VPRSWebService/Service1.asmx] failed."

I can however access "http://www.viewcastonline.com/VPRSWebService/Service1.asmx" from the machine SCX was installed on if I use a web browser. Could it be that SCX isn't using the same proxy cache settings as Internet Explorer ?

Can someone enlighten me as to a workaround ? I believe that there is a manual way of doing it, but I can't seem to find any information relating to it in the documentation supplied with the Niagra Kit, and there don't appear to be any buttons to do it through SCX explorer.

Dave

For anyone else having this problem, there is a tool to register SCX from another machine which can be found on the

www.viewcast.com/driverdownload.asp page under the heading of "SCX Re-Key Utility"

It would appear that both mechanisms for registering have problems with local proxy caches though.

Thanks for the information Dave. I'm just going to try that now, as I had exactly the same 30 day timeout just happen.

Seems a bit quiet around here
