I am using 2 Osprey 230 cards on PAL. I installed the driver version 3.0.0. I am able to capture video and audio using both of the cards using the supplied Osprey capture software. I am not able to capture video using Windows Media Encoder 7.

I installed the driver version 2.2.2.

The 2 Osprey Capture Devices are detected. If I look in volume control, I do not see the Osprey Audio devices. Using the supplied Osprey software, as well as Windows Media Encoder 7, I am able to capture video, but there is no audio.

Is there a Known Issue regarding the Osprey driver version 2.2.2 on Windows XP? I am using Windows XP Service Pack 1, DirectX 9. I have looked in Device Manager and for both cards I can see an Osprey Audio and a Video Capture Device.

Is there perhaps a Known Issue or a quick fix to have the 2 audio devices seen through the Volume Control?

I am having this same problem -- the Osprey Audio devices don't show up in my mixer audio options.  Did you ever find a fix for this?

I was forced to downgrade the OS to Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and use the version 2.2.2 drivers then.

The problem occurs after upgrading to service pack 1.

At least now we know.. thanks.

Unfortunately the PCs my clients purchase all come with Windows XP SP2 preinstalled, so it's either that, or force them to downgrade to Windows 2000 Professional SP4.

This could be related to the primary card preferences in the Windows Control Panel.  To make certain that the Osprey is the preferred recording device in Windows click the Windows Start Button>Control Panel> MultiMedia (the term MultiMedia may vary - sometimes showing up as Audio - depending on the version of windows you are running, but the dialog should be as described) . The Osprey should be listed as the preferred device for recording and "Use preferred devices only" should be selected (leave the preferred playback device set to the soundcard not the Osprey placeholder).

Next, be sure that the Osprey is also configured in the mixing panel for the audio input which you are using. To do this, click the Windows Start button>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control (or, if there is a speaker icon in the system tray just double-click that) then click the Options Menu>Properties and be sure that the mixer device is the Osprey and select Adjust volume for Recording (make sure all of the available inputs have a check mark next to them before clicking OK to apply). This will give you a new mixer panel with all of the options for the Osprey. Make sure the input you are using is selected and that the slider is adjusted appropriately. Then, leaving the mixer panel open try using sound recorder (Windows Start button>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder) to record a short audio clip.

It is also a good idea to test your source by connecting it to another device to be sure that the Osprey is receiving a valid signal and that it is 'hot' enough.
