We are using the Osprey MPEG I Hardware Encoder to encode a live video stream to mpeg files. The video is normal most of the times then has spikes though were alot of frames get lost, the remaining 15-20 f/s (sometimes even less) are not enough to keep up a good video for playback (sudden face movement, choky playback).

We are encoding on a dual processor P3 1.2Ghz, there should be no performance issues.

Does anyone have the same problem and if so how can it get resolved? This is a showstopper for our project.

thanks in forward,

Mike
