Hello...gave up all hope of searching for the answer online and wanted to post something in this forum...Well my problem is I can't quite get the encoded media viewed in a browser...you are supposed to get something like this http://198.168.1.10:xxxx to connect on (xxxx=port) when chosen to broadcast a live event...but I get http://yoga:xxxx for the internet URL and LAN URL... (yoga=My System) I keep getting my router's IP and read that I need to setup something at www.no-ip.com cause the IP keeps changing and so on and what not...I registered at no-ip...but still dunno what to do...I just wanna be able to stream in a browser and dunno how to do it if I can't find the IP that's suppose to work or link the browser to the media stream...pls if someone could post a comment or explain this in baby steps so it can finally work..been busy for weeks and still no progress...Thnx

Hi Samer, it looks like you have several issues that need to be addressed.  If all you want to do is send a link to your friends so that they can view a live broadcast on your system then consult your routers documentation on port forwarding.  This is not a bad solution for a few known users viewing your broadcast.

To do it right, it gets a little more complicated.  I would recommend that you consult the following links for more information on how to deploy Windows Media Services:

WMS9 HOW-TO http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/distribute.asp x

WMS 4.1 how to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/distribute/WMS 41.aspx

Please let me know if you have any questions, good luck with your project!

-Steve
