ViewCast.com Awarded 'Best of Show' at Summer Internet World '99
Award from the Editors of Internet World Magazine
Dallas, Texas July 26, 1999 - ViewCast.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:VCST), a leading supplier of network communication solutions, today announced that they have received the "Best of Show" award from the editors of Internet World Magazine. The award was received at Summer Internet World '99 Conference held last week in Chicago.
ViewCast.com was awarded this honor in the Desktop Hardware and Software category based on the company's ViewCast Professional Encoding Stations. These turnkey systems are the quickest and easiest path to adding streaming video to a corporate, government or educational Web site for training, communication, distance learning and many other applications.
"It is very exciting that the judges have honored ViewCast.com with this award. As video streaming becomes more and more commonplace, ViewCast systems will help thousands of corporations, organizations and broadcasters realize the power and benefits of Internet-based video communications," said Neal Page, VP of ViewCast.com.
The ViewCast Professional Encoding Station includes multiple Osprey-1000 Real G2 video codecs. These enable a single Windows NT workstation to take multiple video feeds, from cameras, VCR or DVD players, or any other video source and stream them all, simultaneously, for live broadcast and archive them for video-on-demand broadcasts. The Osprey-1000/G2 is the industry's only hardware encoder for RealNetworks RealSystem(tm) G2 Streaming Video.
The ViewCast Logging/Encoding station also integrates the Virage VideoLogger(tm) and AudioLogger(tm) with a ViewCast system. This unique product provides the industry's only single system solution for automatically capturing, encoding, and cataloging video -- making video not only accessible over the Internet, but also fully searchable.
ViewCast streaming video systems are fully-configured, turnkey encoding stations and streaming servers that enable corporations, government agencies, schools and organizations to quickly and easily add live and on-demand streaming video to their networks and Web sites. ViewCast systems provide the industry's most popular video streaming software, RealNetworks RealSystem G2 and Microsoft's Windows Media Technology, in turnkey solutions integrated with 'best of breed' software from companies like Virage and Lariat Software.
