Viewcast To Showcase Streaming Technology With Realnetworks At Fall Internet World
Viewcast will demonstrate capabilities of multiple streaming capture cards in a single system
DALLAS (Oct. 25, 2000) Viewcast, Inc. (NASDAQ: VCST), a leading provider of Internet and networked video solutions, will showcase its streaming media technology with RealSystem 8 on Oct. 25-27 at Fall Internet World at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Viewcast will demonstrate the high-quality video capture capabilities of its Osprey-200 capture cards with RealSystem 8 including RealVideo 8 and RealAudio 8 enhancements in the Real Networks Partner Pavilion, Booth # 1621, Section # 28. RealVideo 8 employs breakthrough encoding techniques that enable consumers to view high-quality, full-motion video using dial-up modems, half-screen VHS-quality at mainstream broadband rates, and near DVD-quality video for those using high-capacity networks. RealAudio 8 also provides improved audio capability with minimal file size. Viewcast Osprey Video capture cards are widely recognized as the streaming industrys de facto standard for video capture cards and codecs for streaming video.
Viewcast has enjoyed a longstanding and productive partnership with RealNetworks, said Neal Page, vice president and general manager of Viewcasts Osprey Technologies Division. The Osprey-200 combined with RealSystem 8 provides an outstanding solution for customers to create high-quality video and audio for streaming media. The Osprey-200 is unique in that multiple cards can be used simultaneously in a single system. With the functionality of Osprey-200 and quality enhancements from RealSystem 8, our customers can realize the best of both from the leaders in networked video communications.
The Osprey-200 capture card expands on the capabilities of the Osprey-100, one of the most widely used capture cards in the relatively short history of streaming media. It expands on the Osprey-100 by adding audio capture and providing an even more scalable streaming and capture solution. The Osprey-200 also features advanced DMA for ultra-high performance (full 30fps); Direct Draw for 30 frames per second overlays to video screen with minimal CPU utilization; and closed caption capabilities.
In addition, RealNetworks will hold drawings for free Osprey streaming capture cards for content providers during the show.
