Viewcast.com Debuts New Osprey Video Web Site
Newly Designed Site Allows Customers Easy Access to Osprey Streaming Product Information Online
DALLAS (Sept. 25, 2000) ViewCast.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCST), a leading provider of Internet and
networked video solutions, today announced the debut of its new Osprey Video Web
site (www.ospreyvideo.com).
"The Osprey Video Web
site has been created as a dedicated forum for ViewCast.coms Osprey video
capture boards, the de facto standard streaming video capture, said Brian
Dean, ViewCast.com vice president of marketing. The Osprey Video Web site is
in its initial launch phase and we plan on adding other new and exciting
sections to the site in the coming weeks and months.
The Osprey Video Web site is
designed to be a dynamic site that will allow us to interact with our strategic
partners and third-party developers for Osprey products, Dean said. We
will utilize the Osprey Video Web site to promote third-party solutions built
around Osprey capture products, as well as highlighting interesting third-party
Web sites using Osprey boards for Internet video creation and live webcasts.
Other plans for the Osprey Video Web site include the addition of white papers
on streaming media topics and other resources that tap into our corporate
knowledge of the streaming industry and where its headed.
With the explosive growth of
streaming media and the recent launch of the new Osprey-500 professional digital
video capture card for Windows Media encoding, we wanted to make sure we were
taking advantage of every possible means of getting the information, software,
datasheets and manuals to interested customers and prospects. The new Osprey
Video Web site gives us the forum in which to focus on these Osprey product
specific needs, Dean added.
The latest addition to the
Osprey suite of video streaming products is the new Osprey-500 family of
professional video capture products. The Osprey-500 family has been designed
specifically for the capture of broadcast-quality digital audio and video. The
Osprey-500 product line, developed by ViewCast.coms Osprey Technologies
Division, has been optimized exclusively to support the Microsoft Windows Media
Format and was developed in cooperation with Microsofts Digital Media
Division. These products are now available for shipment globally and are fully
FCC and CE Mark certified as well as NTSC and PAL compliant. The Osprey-500 is
the first capture card to be tightly integrated with the new Windows Media
Technologies 7 Encoder and Format for audio and video streaming.
Technical information and
operating manuals on the Osprey-500, as well as the rest of the ViewCast.com
Osprey Video line the Osprey-100, Osprey-200, and Osprey-1000 G2, is
available on the Osprey Video Web site. The site is also has downloadable
ViewCast.com software (drivers, etc.). Customers can also purchase ViewCast.com/Osprey
Video products directly online, or use a locator to find the nearest
