ViewCast.com Forms Strategic Partnership with Excalibur Technologies

Agreement Puts Excalibur Video Content Management Technology in ViewCast Encoding Stations

DALLAS (June 12, 2000) ViewCast.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: VCST), a leading provider of Internet and networked video solutions, announced today a strategic partnership and OEM agreement with Excalibur Media Services Group, a division of Excalibur Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: EXCA) and a leading provider of video content management enabling technologies.

Based on the terms of the agreement, ViewCast.com will integrate Excalibur Technologies award-winning Screening Room with its ViewCast streaming media solutions. Excalibur Screening Room is a fully integrated, modular system that gives any enterprise unprecedented power to intelligently capture, manage,
re-purpose and publish video content.

"Excaliburs Screening Room has been embraced by professional content creators in a number of industries including corporate media, broadcast, entertainment, and government," said David Nunnerley, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of the Excalibur Media Services Group. "Many of these customers want a single, turnkey solution. With the integration of Screening Room into the ViewCast streaming media systems powered by ViewCast.coms newest professional-grade Osprey Video capture cards we can direct them to a one-box solution that delivers the quality of streaming content the broadband market requires."

"The partnership with Excalibur with its base of professional users and the exciting new direction the company is heading with its recently announced merger with Intels Interactive Media Services division is strategically consistent with ViewCast.coms product evolution. We are increasingly targeting the professional, broadcast-quality streaming media market segments with our new lines of Osprey-2000M and Osprey-500 DVPro capture cards," said ViewCast.com President and CEO George Platt. ViewCast.com Osprey Video capture cards are considered the de facto standard for the streaming industry.

Platt added that partnering with Excalibur is consistent with ViewCast.coms strategy to bundle best-of-breed, third party software with its turnkey ViewCast streaming media systems.

Excalibur will integrate specific capabilities of the new ViewCast.com Osprey Video capture cards within Screening Room including closed-caption data capture, "multiple-cards-in-a-box"; and other professional video streaming capabilities.

Screening Room provides advanced video capture and analysis, intelligent indexing, acceleration of the video production process and instant publishing of video content to the Internet. The systems Capture Client enables users to archive video assets, capture existing analog or digital video, including live feeds, for fast, immediate and affordable access. It also captures associated closed-captioning text and/or provides speech-to-text conversion.

"Integrating Excaliburs Screening Room with the ViewCast system enables users to create streaming video that can be archived, searched and re-purposed, in one turnkey solution," said Platt. "The end result is users are able to increase the value and accessibility of their video content both in-house and via the Internet which makes streaming media information a more effective networked business communications tool and establishes new revenue streams from existing video content."

ViewCast systems are fully-configured, turnkey encoding stations and streaming servers that enable streaming media content creators professional broadcasters, corporations, government agencies, schools and organizations to quickly and easily add live and on-demand streaming media to their networks and Web sites.
