ViewCast.com Announces Support for Microsoft Windows Media Technologies 4.0
Dallas, Texas, April 13, 1999 ViewCast.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:VCST), a leading supplier of components, systems, and turnkey solutions for video communications and Internet video streaming, announced today that it will support Microsoft's new Windows Media Technologies 4.0. The beta release of this software became available today. ViewCast.com delivers the ViewCast� Video Streaming system the industry's first turnkey solution for Microsoft Windows Media Technologies, the Opsrey� -100 video capture card -- the industry's de facto standard for video streaming and the Osprey� -1000 codec card.
Microsoft Windows Media Technologies 4.0 enables high-quality Internet streaming and consists of Windows Media Player, Windows Media Services and Windows Media Tools. The new version offers several advancements including increased quality, better performance and improved ease of use. ViewCast.com's Osprey-100 video capture card has been widely used with earlier versions of Windows Media Technologies and is ideally suited for the new 4.0 version of the Windows Media Encoder. It delivers up to 30 frames per second of high-quality video for the most demanding video streaming applications and provides the quality and performance Windows Media Technologies 4.0 demands.
